The world-famous Mr Bean actor-comedian Rowan Atkinson will be back in the West End in London after almost 40 years, exciting fans with the announcement.
It is reported that Atkinson will be performing a special comedy sketch show at the Gielgud Theatre in London next year.
This will include some of his much-loved sketches alongside some new material, allowing the audience to enjoy his humour in the theatrical space.
The upcoming show will also be Atkinson’s first chance to reunite with some of the cast from his famed British comedy program, Blackadder.
The project will reunite the two writers behind the historical comedy, Richard Curtis and Ben Elton, who have been working with the actor on the script.
British television’s most memorable comedy team will also reunite for the production, with renowned composer Howard Goodall contributing to the production.
According to media reports, the production has been scheduled to make 30 performances.
The performances are anticipated to be at the Gielgud Theatre in London from February 8 until March 13, though additional information on the production could be released closer to the show’s opening date.
Fans who have been following Atkinson’s career on TV, film and stage have been thrilled by his return to the stage.
His character of Mr Bean is one of his all-time favourite roles, but he’s also been very popular in Blackadder and other comedies.
