Police have completed special preparations to ensure the convenience and security of tourists visiting Murree during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
The DPO Murree has asked tourists to download the Safe Tourism Murree app before traveling so they can gain immediate access to police and emergency services.
According to the DPO Murree, there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorms during the Eid days; therefore, tourists should travel with caution and must check the latest weather conditions before departure.
He said that unnecessary travel should be avoided in case of severe weather, and tourists should fully follow the instructions of the traffic police.
According to officials, the Safe Tourism Murree app is a useful facility for tourists through which they can directly contact the police and receive immediate assistance in emergency situations. The app also provides information about hotels in Murree, important tourist attractions, and safety zones.
The DPO Murree stated that a large number of tourists are expected to arrive on the occasion of Eid; therefore, citizens and tourists have been requested to cooperate so that traffic flow can be maintained and everyone can enjoy tourism in a safe environment.
Rain turns twin cities’ weather chilly
Light to moderate rain has hit Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Wednesday (today), turning the weather chilly in both cities.
The rain started at 05:00 am on March 18 (today). Clouds have been present over the twin cities since last night, and intermittent rainfall has further helped in easing the weather conditions.
Previously, the Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted rain with heavy winds and thunderstorms in several cities of the country.
The Meteorological Department further said another westerly system is likely to move in the western regions of the country on the night of March 17, which will also cause another spell of rainfall.
