A group of Muslim-majority countries in a joint statement welcomed the invitation extended to their leaders by the President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump to join the Gaza ‘Board of Peace’.
In a joint statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar said they welcomed an invitation from US President Donald J. Trump to participate in the initiative.
The ministers confirmed their countries’ collective decision to join the Board, noting that each state will complete the required legal and procedural steps to formalise its participation.
According to a joint statement, Ministers announced their countries’ shared decision to join the Board of Peace. Each country will sign the joining documents according to its respective relevant legal and other necessary procedures, including Egypt, Pakistan, and UAE, which have already announced to join.
The Ministers reiterated that their countries’ support for the peace efforts led by President Trump, and reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to support the implementation of the mission of the Board of Peace as a transitional administration, as set out in the comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict and endorsed by United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, aimed at consolidating a permanent ceasefire, supporting the reconstruction of Gaza, and advancing a just and lasting peace grounded in the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood in accordance with international law, thereby paving the way for security and stability for all countries and peoples of the region.
According to the statement, the Board of Peace is intended to help consolidate a permanent ceasefire, support the reconstruction of Gaza, and advance a just and lasting peace based on the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood in line with international law.
The ministers emphasised that the initiative aims to pave the way for long-term security and stability for all countries and peoples in the region.
