The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi has taken action to freeze a luxury mansion that is allegedly associated with property magnate Malik Riaz Hussain, along with thousands of acres of land linked to Bahria Town Karachi, in response to allegations of unlawful occupation and acquisition of government land.
As reported by NAB Karachi officials, the bureau has frozen a property referred to as “Ali Villa,” which is allegedly built for the personal residence of Malik Riaz Hussain under the name of his son, Ali Riaz Malik, located in Bahria Hills within Bahria Town Karachi.
The statement indicated that this property includes 67 acres and features amenities such as a helipad, a mini zoo, and swimming pools.
Additionally, NAB disclosed that in two distinct inquiries, it has also frozen 1,338 acres of land that is claimed to have been illegally seized by Bahria Town Karachi, where developments such as Bahria Greens and precincts 33, 34, 38 to 40, 42, and 61 were proposed.
The bureau contended that this land rightfully belongs to the Government of Sindh.
Furthermore, the anti-corruption agency has frozen 3,150 acres of land associated with Bahria Town 2, which it alleges was fraudulently acquired by M/s Paradise Real Estate (Pvt) Limited through a separate directive issued by the Director General of NAB Karachi.
The appropriate authorities have been instructed to ensure that Bahria Town Karachi does not establish any third-party rights over the properties and land that have been frozen.
NAB officials stated that the Bureau has already submitted Reference No. 1/2025 to an accountability court in Karachi concerning allegations of illegal conversion and misappropriation of 17,672 acres of government land in the Malir district, which is valued at Rs. 708 billion, allegedly in collusion with officials from the Government of Sindh.
The Bureau has alleged that Bahria Town Karachi was constructed adjacent to the M-9 Motorway in contravention of legal regulations.
