NADRA Warns Overseas Pakistanis

NADRA announces mega centre in Karachi

ISLAMABAD: Overseas Pakistanis, especially in the UK, are being warned by NADRA about a fake website using the authority’s name to scam people.

The site, “NADRA Card Centre” (nadra.cardcentre.co.uk), pretends to offer services like NICOP processing, ID cards, and even job opportunities.

NADRA clarified it has no link with the site. It called the platform a fraud using NADRA’s name to cheat people. The authority said any personal data given to such websites could lead to identity theft or financial loss.

NADRA has lodged a complaint with the National Cyber Crime Agency to take action against the culprits.

WARNING FOR MARRIED CITIZENS

In a separate advisory, NADRA requested married citizens to update their marital status in its records to avoid legal issues later.

Many citizens registered their marriages with Union Councils but didn’t update NADRA’s records.

The authority urged them to visit NADRA centres and correct their status.

An SMS service has been launched to inform people about the update. Help is available at 1777 for mobile users or 051-111-786-100, and on the NADRA website.

The fee for updating marital status is Rs100. Applicants must provide documents like a Nikahnama or marriage certificate. This update is marked as an “unprintable alteration” on the CNIC.
