Web desk: The Pakistan Armed Forces marked the 77th martyrdom anniversary of Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed, Hilal-e-Kashmir, paying tribute to his bravery and sacrifice during the 1948 conflict, as per a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff; General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee; Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff, joined in honouring the national hero according to an official statement by the ISPR.
Naik Saif Ali Janjua is remembered for his courage and leadership in defending the Pir Kaleva Ridge against Indian attacks in 1948.
The official statement by the ISPR read, “Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed displayed exceptional bravery and steadfast resolve while defending the strategically vital Pir Kaleva Ridge against relentless Indian offensives during the 1948 conflict. His unwavering dedication and selfless heroism continue to inspire generations of soldiers committed to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty.”
His actions continue to inspire soldiers serving the nation today.
The statement further added, “This solemn occasion serves to honour not only Naik Saif Ali Janjua but all valiant members of the Armed Forces whose sacrifices exemplify unmatched devotion to duty and country. Their courage remains a guiding light for the defenders of our homeland.”
The ISPR said the day also serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by all members of the Armed Forces who gave their lives for Pakistan’s security.
The statement added, “The nation stands forever indebted to its brave sons, whose sacrifices are etched in the heart of every Pakistani with pride, respect, and eternal gratitude.”
The statement reaffirmed that the nation remains proud and grateful for its martyrs.
