Pindi’s star pacer Naseem Shah doubtful for rest of PSL

Rawalpindi’s star pacer, Naseem Shah, is unlikely to feature in the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League after being sidelined with a side injury.

Team management has confirmed that the fast bowler has been ruled out for an indefinite period. His return to action will depend on successful rehabilitation and medical clearance, casting uncertainty over his availability for the rest of the tournament.

The development is a significant setback for Rawalpindi, as the team now awaits further updates on Naseem Shah’s recovery. It is worth noting that Naseem Shah sustained the injury during a match against the Karachi Kings.

The Pindi franchise has confirmed that he will miss the upcoming matches due to this injury. The team’s medical staff is closely monitoring his recovery, and he is expected to return in the later stages of the tournament, depending on his fitness and rehab progress.

The franchise has expressed full support for Naseem Shah and acknowledged that the team will deeply miss him while awaiting his return.

In the last week, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has declared fast bowler Naseem Shah guilty and imposed a heavy fine on him. According to the PCB, Naseem Shah has been fined for violating the board’s central contract.

The PCB had issued a show-cause notice on March 27, 2026, seeking an explanation from Naseem Shah regarding the alleged violations. After receiving and reviewing his response, a three-member disciplinary committee heard the case on March 30.

Following their review, the committee ruled that, despite his unconditional apology, Naseem Shah was found guilty of violating several clauses of the central contract and has been fined Rs 20 million.
