Pakistani fast bowler Naseem Shah has taken to the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to apologise for his remarks that violated the terms of his central contract and the board’s media policy.

The cricketer said that he takes full responsibility and that the statement does not reflect his views.

On Thursday, a controversial post was shared from Naseem Shah’s account on X regarding the arrival of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz at Gaddafi Stadium during the opening ceremony of PSL 11.

According to the PCB, professional standards, adherence to contracts and the reputation of the game will be maintained at all costs.

The post stated, “A recent post from my account was made by my management team and does not reflect my views.”

“I take full responsibility for my platform and have implemented the necessary changes to ensure this does not happen again,” he added further.

“I sincerely apologise to everyone affected by this misuse of my platform,” the tweet concluded.

Naseem Shah claims X account hacked

Naseem Shah has claimed that his X account, formerly known as Twitter, was hacked after a post about Maryam Nawaz.

The post appeared for a while and was deleted immediately after five minutes, as per the media reports.

The post, shared from his account on X, questioned why Maryam Nawaz was being “treated like a queen”.

PCB imposes a heavy fine

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has declared fast bowler Naseem Shah guilty and imposed a heavy fine on him today.

According to the PCB, Naseem Shah has been fined for violating the board’s central contract.

Following their review, the committee ruled that, despite his unconditional apology, Naseem Shah was found guilty of violating several clauses of the central contract and has been fined Rs 20 million.

PCB issues show cause notice to Naseem Shah

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken disciplinary action against fast bowler Naseem Shah, issuing him a show-cause notice for allegedly violating the terms of his central contract and the board’s media policy.

According to sources, the PCB has directed Naseem Shah to submit his response within a specified time frame. The board will determine further action based on his explanation.
