ISLAMABAD: Rana Sanaullah was officially nominated as the parliamentary leader of the party in the Senate.
The decision of his selection was finalised by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Such an important action comes after Sanaullah won a By-election in the Senate a few days ago. Sanaullah had won 250 votes in the Punjab Assembly to take that empty seat.
Moreover, his extensive experience will, according to the party leadership, make their service more substantial in the Upper House.
Sanaullah has worked in different high-ranking positions in the past before this appointment. He has been the Federal Interior Minister and twice Law Minister.
Therefore, this is why he is the best candidate to lead this position because he has a deep knowledge of parliamentary matters.
PML-N Expansion in the Senate
PML-N is extending its power in the Senate. The purpose of this nomination is to have better coordination among members of the parties in the legislative sessions.
Besides this, the party would also like to further pursue its legislative agenda under his leadership. This is considered by most political analysts as a strategic measure for the ruling alliance.
Generally, having Sanaullah in the Senate is a new beginning for the PML-N parliamentary outfit. His co-workers have already shown that they are fully supportive of this decision.
