Web desk: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre in Samli, Murree, today. Calling it a milestone in the region’s healthcare development.
The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with a Cardiac Catheterisation Lab and advanced medical technologies.
“Cardiologists and support staff will be available round the clock to ensure uninterrupted care,” she said.
At the inauguration of the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre in Samli, she spoke of her deep attachment to the hill station. Calling it her second home and recalling her family’s long-standing ties to the area.
This marks the first major renovation and upgradation of the Syed Muhammad Hussain Government Samli Hospital since its establishment in 1930.
To ease patient travel, three dedicated buses will operate between Murree and the hospital.
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister announced plans to build a 100-bed hospital in Kotli Sattian. And a 50-bed facility in Bhurban.
Mobile health services, including the “Clinic on Wheels” and “Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics,” are already fully functional across the Murree region.
Transforming Murree into Model Hill Station: new hospitals, transport, tourism projects
Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has revealed a comprehensive development package for Murree, focusing on healthcare, transport, tourism, and infrastructure improvements.
On the development side, schools in Murree are being upgraded. While the historic Mall Road is undergoing a massive rehabilitation scheme worth billions of rupees.
For tourism promotion, a dedicated force has been set up under Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb.
Efforts are also underway to restore wildlife parks, including Bansra Gali Park. With plans for a new biodiversity park to safeguard the region’s natural environment.
Transport facilities are being expanded with the introduction of a new train service between Rawalpindi and Murree. Along with fifteen green buses.
The buses will provide free travel to senior citizens, women, and persons with disabilities, easing mobility for locals and visitors.
Maryam Nawaz said these projects show the government’s determination to uplift Murree by enhancing healthcare, infrastructure, transport, and tourism. Turning it into a model hill station for both residents and tourists.
