Nawaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar visit shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri ‘Data Darbar’

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, along with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, visited the shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri, better known as Data Sahib, here on Sunday. Amid strict security, they offered Fateha.

During the visit, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif said that the shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri is a great centre of spiritual peace, tolerance, and harmony and that serving pilgrims is a national responsibility.

He emphasised that providing maximum facilities, security, cleanliness, and convenience to pilgrims remains among the top priorities of the government.

He said all possible resources are being utilised to protect the sanctity, historical heritage, and spiritual environment of Data Darbar, adding that millions of pilgrims from across the country and abroad visit the shrine every year.

The government, he said, is committed to providing modern facilities while fully preserving the religious and cultural significance of the sacred site.

Earlier, Nawaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar offered Fateha, laid a wreath, and showered flowers at the shrine. They also prayed for peace, security, prosperity, and stability of the country and the nation.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said that the expansion and development project of Data Darbar is a major and historic initiative aimed at facilitating millions of pilgrims. He added that such projects reflect the government’s vision of preserving religious heritage while delivering improved and modern services to the public.

Secretary and Chief Administrator of Auqaf Punjab, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, welcomed the dignitaries at the shrine. Director General Auqaf Shahid Kalyani, Administrator Muhammad Ali Khan, and other senior officers were also present.
