Netanyahu says Iran war 'not over', uranium must be 'taken out'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated in an interview on Sunday that stockpile of enriched uranium in Iran must be ‘taken out’ before the conflict between the US and Israel against Iran can be concluded.

Netanyahu stated in a segment of an interview scheduled to air later on Sunday during CBS’s “60 Minutes” program, “It’s not over, as there remains nuclear material, enriched uranium, that needs to be removed from Iran. There are still enrichment facilities that must be dismantled.”

When questioned about the method of uranium removal, the Israeli leader responded, “You go in and you take it out.”

Netanyahu noted that US President Donald Trump shared a similar viewpoint, “I’m not going to discuss military options, but the president, what President Trump has communicated to me, ‘I want to go in there’.”

Trump claims Iran ‘militarily defeated’

In an interview broadcast on Sunday, Trump claimed that Iran was “militarily defeated” and said that the uranium could be extracted “whenever we want.”

“We’ll obtain that at some point, whenever we choose. We’ll have it monitored,” he stated to independent television journalist Sharyl Attkisson.

“We have that area very well monitored. If anyone approaches the site, we will be aware of it and we’ll take action against them.”

When CBS asked about how the uranium stockpiles could be extracted from Iran, Netanyahu expressed a preference for a diplomatic agreement.

Netanyahu also added, “I’m not going to discuss our military capabilities, strategies, or anything of that nature.”

“I’m not going to provide a timeline for it, but I will say that it is an extremely important mission.”
