Netflix has released the first official poster and teaser for Stranger Things: Tales from 85, an animated series after the successful premiere of its popular science fiction series. The teaser was shared on Netflix’s official X account on February 2, 2026, offering fans an early glimpse of the project ahead of its planned release later this year.
Poster and teaser revealed online
The poster, also posted on Netflix’s social media, shows a neon-lit street in Hawkins at night. A familiar figure is seen holding a flashlight, while bright signs and shadows hint at danger nearby. The animation style draws heavily on 1980s cartoons, reflecting the show’s title and setting.
The short teaser does not reveal major plot details but confirms the tone and visual direction. Netflix has described the series as an animated adventure that sits alongside the original show rather than replacing it.
According to the creators, Tales from 85 is set between seasons two and three of the live-action series. The story takes place in 1985, as Hawkins faces new supernatural threats linked to the Upside Down.
The plot follows the core group of young characters as strange events return to the town. Early details suggest new creatures, including mutated plants and glowing pumpkins, which signal that something is once again wrong beneath the surface.
Cast and creative team
The voice cast includes Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang Rappaport as Max, and Luca Diaz as Mike. Other roles are voiced by Elisha “EJ” Williams, Braxton Quinney, Ben Plessala, and Brett Gipson. Actors Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips also appear in supporting roles.
The series is executive produced by the Duffer Brothers alongside Shawn Levy and others. Animation is handled by Flying Bark Productions.
Release plans
Netflix says the animated series is designed to be accessible to new viewers while still appealing to long-time fans. Stranger Things: Tales from 85 is expected to premiere in April 2026. The show will premiere at Netflix app, and fans can have a glimpse of the Hawkins heroes once again.
