Web desk: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has completed the valuation process of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise teams and is moving ahead with plans to introduce two new teams for PSL Edition XI.
Officials said that a chartered firm has determined the potential price for the two new franchises. The tender process for the sale of the new teams will begin soon, and the owners are expected to be selected before the start of the next edition.
Cities under consideration for the new teams include Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, and Rawalpindi. The final decision on the locations will be made after the tender process is completed.
In addition, the PCB has offered existing franchises new contracts with a 10-year renewal option. The franchises have been asked to confirm their decisions within the stipulated period.
Officials emphasised that the board is committed to maintaining strong relationships with franchise owners based on mutual respect.
The PCB stated that all necessary steps are being taken to strengthen the future of the PSL and expand the league.
PCB to Auction Two New Franchises
All major sponsorship and franchise agreements for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) had concluded with the completion of the 10th season.
PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer has confirmed previously that an auction for two new franchise teams will be held for the 11th edition of the league in 2026.
He made the announcement during a press conference at the National Bank Stadium on Wednesday, stating that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will soon begin the auction process for the new teams.
Salman Naseer explained that bidding parties will be able to choose their teams from a list of city names.
He also noted that the conclusion of the previous agreements marked a significant milestone in the league’s growth.
Additionally, Naseer confirmed that HBL will continue as the title sponsor for both the 11th and 12th seasons of the PSL.
