The Punjab Council of the Arts has issued new directives for all theatre halls in Lahore, requiring them to strictly adhere to prescribed performance timings and monitoring regulations.

Under the new instructions, all theatre performances in the provincial capital must conclude by 1 am. The council has warned theatre hall management that strict action may be taken against venues that fail to comply with the schedule.

According to officials, the Punjab Council of the Arts will closely monitor theatre halls across Lahore to ensure that performances begin and end within the officially prescribed timings. Theatre management has been directed to ensure that their shows do not continue beyond the 1 am deadline.

The council has also instructed all theatre halls to keep their surveillance cameras switched on 24 hours a day. The measure has been introduced to facilitate continuous monitoring of activities taking place inside theatre premises and to ensure compliance with the regulations.

Officials said the new directives are aimed at bringing greater discipline to theatre operations and ensuring that all venues function according to the rules and regulations set by the provincial authorities.

The authorities have stressed that theatre managements will be responsible for following the prescribed timings and maintaining the required monitoring arrangements. Regular checks and monitoring will be carried out to identify any violations.

The Punjab Council of the Arts has directed theatre owners and management to cooperate with the authorities and ensure full implementation of the new instructions. The council said compliance with the rules would be monitored closely across Lahore.
