WEB DESK: The major update is here. Meta’s WhatsApp has introduced many new features in its app just before 2026 begins.
The company launched new stickers of New Year’s wishes along with many more features just ahead of the New Year.
WhatsApp said that this major festive update covers video call effects, message reactions, and sticker packs. The features are designed for the user to celebrate the new beginning and connect creatively.
There is also a Lottie sticker which adds a cheerful tone to conversations, and is available for both of the chats (individual and group).
The users can also embed stickers in their status to welcome 2026 and to say goodbye to the good memories created in the past year.
Consumers can now tap the effects icon during video calls to add fireworks, confetti, and star animations during calls.
The major updates are visually appealing, as the company has also allowed users to create events and pin them at the top of the group, to keep everyone on the same page.
WhatsApp claimed that new updates will help users enhance connectivity, as these features will help them stay together. And they can also celebrate the New Year’s beginning by connecting with their loved ones.
