Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) has waived the requirement to appear in the Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT) for admission to its Bachelor of Studies (BS) programmes during the current admission cycle.
According to an official announcement, all prospective candidates can apply for admission to QAU’s BS programmes, regardless of whether they have appeared in the HEC USAT.
The decision means that students who did not take the USAT will remain eligible to submit their applications for admission. Candidates who appeared in the test but did not qualify will also be allowed to apply.
Applicants who passed the USAT can also apply for admission under the revised requirements.
However, the university clarified that the waiver applies only to the USAT requirement. All other eligibility conditions and admission criteria will remain unchanged.
Candidates will still have to meet the requirements mentioned in QAU’s admission policy and the eligibility criteria set for their selected programmes.
The decision may provide relief to students who missed the USAT or were unable to qualify for the test. It could also allow a wider pool of candidates to apply for undergraduate programmes during the current admission cycle.
Prospective applicants are advised to review the university’s admission policy and the requirements of their preferred BS programmes before submitting their applications.
