No challans for motorcycles, rickshaws till Eid in Lahore

Lahore challan

City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) will not issue challans to rickshaw and motorcycle riders until Eid in order to provide relief to citizens.

The decision has been taken to reduce fuel consumption in view of the global war situation and rising petroleum prices.

According to officials, instructions have been issued not to issue challans to rickshaw and motorcycle riders until Eid in order to provide relief to citizens.

Traffic authorities said that if petrol prices increase further, a phased strategy will be adopted. In the first phase, traffic police personnel, including the chief traffic officer, will use motorcycles instead of official vehicles.

In addition, traffic police vehicles will not be kept unnecessarily on the road to prevent fuel waste.

Officials added that if petrol prices rise further, the third phase may include traffic police patrolling on bicycles.

The traffic police have also appealed to citizens to avoid unnecessary use of cars and motorcycles amid the current situation, to conserve fuel and reduce pressure on national resources.
