After multiple extensions, the deadline for M-tag registration expires. Vehicles without an M-Tag will not be allowed to enter the premises of Islamabad from today.
As per details, the deadline for vehicle M-Tag registration in Islamabad expired. The Excise department has now made two M-Tag centres operational 24/7.
M-tag location
The M-Tag services will be available through out the day at specific location including 26 Number Chungi and 17 Meel toll plazas.
How will it work
Vehicles without M-Tags will be stopped at these spots via M-Tag readers from today. Vehicles without M-Tags will be identified as they enter the city. Irfan Memon stated that the system is ready and are fully operational.
The citizens have been warned that further action will be taken under the relevant rules.
How to get an M-tag
Earlier. officials said that the M-Tag registration process has been simplified. Motorists are required to bring only two documents for registration: the vehicle’s registration card or book and the CNIC of the owner.
According to officials, no additional paperwork or lengthy formalities are involved. The eligible applicants will be able receive their M-Tag on the spot.
