The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) rejected reports on Wednesday indicating a possible disruption of internet services on January 15. The PTA confirmed that all the reports regarding the issue are fake and misleading. The authority further said that internet services across the country would remain stable and fully operational.
However, PTA also said that routine maintenance work on submarine cables is in process, adding that it will not affect internet services in the country. The PTA officials stated that the authorities are closely monitoring internet connectivity to ensure smooth internet services across the country.

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has warned the public to avoid illegal online investment platforms that are operating without official approval.

In a statement, the SECP named Hill House Capital, Hill House Investment, and S169 Wharton as unauthorised and illegal platforms.
According to the details, these entities are misleading people with false promises of high profits.
The SECP further explained that such platforms often use attractive claims and fake marketing to lure investors.
After they are successful, they then disappear with the money.
The commission has reported these illegal platforms to the relevant authorities for action.
The regulator advised the public to invest only through SECP-licensed brokers and companies.
They have warned the people not to deposit money on websites, apps, or platforms that are not officially approved.
Investors have been urged to verify the status of any company before sending money.
According to the SECP said taking a few minutes to check can help prevent major financial losses.
