‘No large-scale military operation in Tirah’: security sources

'No large-scale military operation in Tirah; only IBOs being conducted': security sources

Security sources in Balochistan have said, on Friday, that groups such as Fitna-ul-Hindustan oppose public welfare and development.

Security sources add that the people of the province recognise that those claiming to fight injustice are actually involved in terrorism.

In a briefing to the media in Karachi, officials clarified that no large-scale military operations are underway in Tirah. They added that only intelligence based operations (IBOs) are being conducted.

Over the past three years, IBOs against Fitna-ul-Khawarij and Fitna-ul-Hindustan have proven to be the most effective method in countering terrorism.

Authorities noted that current weather conditions are unsuitable for major operations, but intelligence-led actions continue.

These actions expose links between terrorist groups and criminal networks. Security sources confirmed that operations will continue until the last terrorist is neutralised.

Security officials held an important briefing with media representatives. They provided detailed answers to key questions regarding the situation.

They emphasised that no statement or propaganda can undermine the relationship between the military and the local population.

Addressing recent reports, officials clarified that the alleged operation in Tirah Valley was false and baseless.

They confirmed that no check posts have been established either inside or outside the valley.

All decisions are made in consultation with tribal elders and local dignitaries, with careful consideration of local conditions and traditions, the security sources reiterated.

The people of Balochistan have recognised terrorists who use slogans of deprivation to carry out violence, the security sources said.

Intelligence based operations continue against the terrorists, sources said.

Tirah Valley

The displaced victims from Tirah Valley have expressed serious reservations over Rs4 billion relief package announced by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and viewed that they have not received any financial assistance so far.

According to the victims, severe cold, illness and the lack of basic facilities have made their lives unbearable, while official claims appear to be at odds with ground realities.

The victims viewed that although the provincial government announced a Rs 4bn relief package, its transparent implementation is nowhere to be seen on the ground.
