The Punjab Assembly has recommended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for the Nobel Peace Prize, praising their role in easing recent regional tensions.
Lawmakers moved the resolution to recognise the leadership’s timely and active diplomacy, which they say helped reduce tensions at a critical moment. Chief Whip Rana Muhammad Arshad of PML-N introduced the resolution in the assembly.
In the document, the assembly highlighted how Pakistan’s top leadership took quick and effective steps to prevent the situation from turning into a larger conflict. It stated that their diplomatic efforts helped bring calm and stability when tensions in the region were rising fast.

The resolution also noted that the recent situation posed a serious risk to global peace. It stressed that immediate and smart mediation was necessary to avoid a wider crisis, and Pakistan’s leadership played a key role in making that happen.
Lawmakers said these efforts opened the door for dialogue between important stakeholders. They added that the leadership helped improve understanding and reduced the chances of conflict through careful diplomacy.
The assembly further praised the government for handling the situation with strong planning and foresight. It said the leadership acted responsibly and ensured that a potential crisis did not escalate into a major global issue.
By passing this resolution, the Punjab Assembly formally acknowledged the role of Pakistan’s leadership in promoting peace and stability in a tense regional environment.
