Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir worked very hard and used strong diplomacy to help stop the conflict. He helped the US and Iran to talk directly to reduce the tensions between them.
Field Marshal Asim Munir achieved what the United Nations was unable to achieve in time, said Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, General Counsel of SFJ.
“Field Marshal Asim Munir will be recognised as a ‘Saviour of Peace’ for the next century for de-escalating the U.S.–Iran conflict,” he added.
Sikh For Justice nominated Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir citing
• Prevention of escalation into large-scale armed conflict
• Securing a ceasefire between the United States and Iran
• Containment of regional instability at a critical stage
• Stabilisation of global security and energy systems
• Transition from confrontation to structured negotiation
SFJ also urged the Pakistan government and the United States to play the same role as mediators between Khalistan Referendum activists and the Government of India. It is pertinent to mention that the Sikh community in Indian Punjab has been struggling for Khalistan (a separate state -land of the Khalsa) since the late 1970s and early 1980s.
