In a bizarre incident, a fan of the Melody Queen of Pakistan Noor Jehan was arrested for playing her songs on loudspeaker in Phool Nagar, Punjab.

According to police, the fan, who runs a shop in the area, was detained for listening to the songs at an excessively loud volume.

As per details, the Sadar Pattoki Police Station officials were informed that the shopkeeper was playing Madam Noor Jehan’s famous song “Weikh We Din Charrheya Ke Nahin”, which reportedly disturbed nearby residents and passersby.

On the complaint of the residents, the police reached the spot, detained the shopkeeper and registered a case against him under the Punjab Sound System (Regulation) Act, 2015.

In a separate incident earlier, a rickshaw driver landed into trouble with the authorities for playing the song of famous singer Naseebo Lal too loudly.

Okara police had arrested the rickshaw driver and registered a case against him for violating the Punjab Sound System Act.

If convicted, the rickshaw driver could face jail time up to six months and a fine of Rs 25,000 to Rs 100,000.

The police said that the action was taken under the Punjab Sound System Act.

The police spokesperson said that violation of the law will not be tolerated under any circumstances, strict action will be taken against the violators.
