Noor Zaman Reaches his First PSA Bronze Quarterfinal

Noor Zaman

Noor Zaman defeated world number twenty Gregoire Marche by three games to two at the Open Squash Classic 2025 in New York to enter his first PSA Bronze quarterfinal.

A five game battle shows his nerve

Noor Zaman stayed calm through a seventy five minute contest on Court Four.

He took the first game by eleven to five, then Marche answered by five to eleven. Next, Zaman stepped ahead again by eleven to six, yet the Frenchman forced a decider by nine to eleven.

Finally, the fifth game reached ten all, and Zaman closed it out by twelve to ten.

Therefore, the win showed strong fitness, steady shot selection, and the belief to finish tight points against a higher ranked opponent.

Next he faces fourth seed Leonel Cardenas

Meanwhile, Zaman will meet fourth seed Leonel Cardenas of Mexico in the quarterfinals of the seventy four thousand dollar PSA World Tour Bronze event, which runs in New York through October nine.

Earlier, he reached the Round of Sixteen by beating Spain’s Bernat Jaume in straight games with scores of eleven to nine, eleven to three, and fourteen to twelve.

In parallel, Pakistan’s other entries went out in the first round.

Ashab Irfan lost to India’s Velavan Senthilkumar, while Asim Khan fell in three games to Egypt’s Mostafa El Serty.

Recent form adds to his momentum

Looking ahead, Zaman carries fresh confidence from his title run at the Nash Cup 2025 in London, Canada.

There he defeated Egypt’s Moustafa Elsirty by three games to nil, winning by nineteen to seventeen, eleven to seven, and eleven to nine in fifty two minutes.

That victory was his first PSA World Tour Copper level crown and it carried a purse of thirty one thousand two hundred fifty dollars.

As a result, he arrives in New York with proven form, rising self belief, and a clear path to test himself again against the world’s top players.
