The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has reduced petrol and diesel prices, providing slight relief to consumers from October 14.
According to the revised rates, petrol prices have been cut by Rs2.71 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs392.66 per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs0.30 per litre, taking its new rate to Rs396.82 per litre.
The reduction in fuel prices comes as motorists and businesses continue to face high transportation and operating costs.
Petrol is widely used by private vehicle owners, motorcyclists and commuters, while high-speed diesel is essential for heavy transport, agricultural machinery and several commercial sectors.
Changes in diesel prices can also affect freight charges and the cost of transporting essential goods.
The revised prices will take effect on October 14. However, the modest reductions are unlikely to significantly ease the financial pressure on consumers.
