A Grand Khidmat Markaz will be established in Karachi to provide citizens with a range of essential services, including passports, national identity cards, NADRA Direct, arms licences and No Objection Certificates (NOCs), under one roof, media reported.
The decision to establish what has been described as the country’s largest Grand Khidmat Markaz under the federal Interior Ministry was announced during Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s visit to the ministry’s office on II Chundrigar Road.
Mohsin Naqvi said special counters for all subordinate departments of the Interior Ministry would be set up at the modern service centre, enabling citizens to access multiple government services from a single location.
The minister said the facility would offer important services such as passport issuance, national identity cards, NADRA Direct facilities, arms licences and NOCs, reducing the need for citizens to visit different government offices.
Naqvi directed the authorities to prepare a detailed master plan for the Grand Khidmat Markaz within 10 days. He said the plan should take into account citizens’ requirements as well as modern service-delivery needs.
He also ordered the immediate completion of all administrative and technical arrangements to ensure the early establishment of the service centre.
NADRA announces easy Pak-ID password recovery process
Meanwhile, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a simplified procedure for citizens who have forgotten their Pak-ID account password or are unable to log into the NADRA mobile application.
According to NADRA, users can recover access to their Pak-ID account by following a few simple steps.
First, citizens need to enter their CNIC number on the Pak-ID app login screen and select the “Forgot Password” option.
The application will then ask users to provide their registered email address. If they no longer remember the email address linked to their account, they can enter their current active email address and proceed by selecting “Go Ahead”.
An OTP will subsequently be sent to the provided email address. Users must enter the verification code in the application before proceeding to the next step.
After that, citizens will be required to complete biometric verification as instructed by NADRA. Once the verification is successfully completed, they can set a new password and regain access to their Pak-ID account.
NADRA has advised citizens to use an active email address and keep their login credentials secure to avoid interruptions when accessing the Pak-ID application.
