According to official reports, on April 1, 2026, Afghan forces continue to carry out indiscriminate firing in Bajaur and Dir border areas as Operation Ghazb lil Haq continues.
Pakistan security forces have responded immediately and effectively, silencing the gun positions of Afghan forces and destroying the posts from where firing was being carried out.
According to security sources, there was no loss of life on the Pakistani side, while every attempt of the enemy was halted by giving an effective and strong response.
Afghan media and certain social media accounts have allegedly been exaggerating the recent exchange of fire in Nawapas and Bajaur sectors.
According to field reports, the situation is completely under control and no unusual incident has occurred.
KP witnesses decline in terrorist activities amid Ghazb lil Haq
Earlier, official reports indicated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) saw a dramatic drop in terrorism following “Operation Ghazb lil Haq,” a security mission targeting militants based in Afghanistan.
Authorities are hailing the operation as a significant victory for security forces.
The crackdown began on the night of February 26, and the impact was immediate. Since the operation’s launch, terrorist activities in the province have plummeted by 65%.
To put that into perspective, 240 incidents had been recorded in KP earlier this year before the mission began. Since the operation took effect, that number has fallen sharply to just 80 incidents.
Operation Ghazb lil Haq is a military offensive that has seen cross-border aggression and firing by Afghan Taliban at 53 locations across the border since it began on February 26, 2026.
Initial phases of the operation involved foiling infiltration attempts in the Bajaur and Nawapas sectors.
