A new digital facility has been launched that will allow Overseas Pakistanis to register and transfer their vehicles online through the PakID mobile application.
The Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department has introduced this for Overseas Pakistanis.
Director of Excise Bilal Azam said that the initiative aims to simplify vehicle-related processes for expatriates.
“Now, for registration and transfer of the vehicle, they can download the PakID app. From there, they can record their biometrics, and we will ensure the vehicle’s transfer,” he stated.
“When you sell any vehicle, please ensure that you sign your transfer letter and hand it over to the purchaser,” he said, adding that both biometric verification and a signed transfer letter remain legal requirements.
The new digital system is part of a wider reform drive by the Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and public convenience.
By integrating with the PakID app, the department has created a secure and user-friendly platform where biometric verification replaces physical appearances, reducing fraud risks and streamlining government service delivery.
