US President Donald Trump again mentioned India Pakistan war, saying that he stopped the clashes with a threat of 350% tariff.
The comments came during his address at the Saudi investment conference, where he said that “I said that’s okay, you can go at it, but I’m putting a 350% tariff on each country,” he told the audience, adding that he refused to “have you guys shooting nuclear weapons at each other, killing millions of people, and having the nuclear dust floating over Los Angeles.”
Trump said that leadership in both countries pushed back, but he claimed he held firm: “They said, ‘We don’t like that.’ I said, ‘I don’t care if you like it or not.’”
He also acknowledged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praise, saying that “He actually said, ‘I saved millions, President Trump saved millions and millions of lives.’”
The US president also said he received a call from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shortly afterwards.
“I got a call… saying, ‘We’re done,’” Trump claimed. “We’re not going to go to war.”
Yesterday, US President Donald Trump said that he stopped the India-Pakistan May 2025 war that was almost ready to start again.
Speaking to reporters in a joint press conference along with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is in US for the first time in seven years, at his Oval Office, Trump said, “I’ve stopped eight wars… I’ve actually stopped eight wars. We stopped India and Pakistan. I could go through the list… I’m very proud. I stopped one that was almost ready to start again.”
It is pertinent to mention here that in September, Donald Trump, praised Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, during a speech to US military generals in Virginia.
Speaking to the audience, Trump recalled that just three days ago, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir had been present with him.
He described Field Marshal Munir as a highly important figure in Pakistan.
The US president highlighted a remark made by Field Marshal Munir, who reportedly said that Trump had saved millions of lives by stopping wars.
‘He said I prevented conflict, saving countless lives. If the war had broken out, the situation would have been far worse,’ Trump recounted.
Trump described Munir’s comments as an honour and said he deeply appreciated the praise. The Field Marshal’s remarks were reportedly made in the presence of two US generals and other officials.
President Donald Trump also touched on past efforts to prevent conflicts, including a potential war between India and Pakistan.
