Web desk: The ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is set to begin on Tuesday, with all three matches scheduled at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The first ODI will be played on November 11, followed by the second and third matches on November 13 and 15.
This marks Shaheen Shah Afridi’s second ODI series as Pakistan captain. Under his leadership, the team recently won the ODI series against South Africa 2-1.
Speaking ahead of the series, Shaheen Afridi said, “The series win against South Africa in Faisalabad has boosted our confidence.”
He further added, “This was my first series as an ODI captain, and I am proud of how the players coped in different conditions and performed as a unit. The energy, determination, and teamwork were outstanding.”
He added, “Our focus against Sri Lanka is to continue this winning streak. Sri Lanka is a disciplined team that challenges you with their skills.”
He further added, “We need to play smart, stick to our plans, and stay positive. Our aim is to improve in every area and give our fans performances they can be proud of.”
According to the reports, the umpires for the series include England’s Alexander Waf and Bangladesh’s Sikat Sharafudullah, along with Pakistan’s Asif Yaqoob, Rashid Riaz, and Faisal Afridi. Ali Naqvi will serve as the match referee.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka have faced each other in 157 ODIs, with Pakistan winning 93 and Sri Lanka 59.
One match was tied, and four ended inconclusively. At Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the two sides have played twice, each winning one match, while Sri Lanka also defeated Zimbabwe in a previous ODI at the ground.
