The USA won the toss for the Pakistan vs the USA T20 World Cup 2026 match today, on Tuesday, in the 12th match of the T20 World Cup 2026 in Colombo.
The team has decided to bowl first.
The USA made one change to their squad, replacing Ali Khan with former Pakistani fast bowler Ehsan Adil. Pakistan also made a change, bringing in spinner Usman Tariq in place of Salman Mirza.
In Group A, Pakistan won their first match against the Netherlands by 3 wickets. The USA gave defending champions India a tough fight in their opener, but couldn’t win.
A win in this match will put Pakistan at the top of the group. While the USA must win to stay in contention.
Pakistan beat USA in T20 World Cup match
Chasing the target, the USA got off to a good start but lost their first wicket at 42 runs when Andries Gous was caught off Mohammad Nawaz after scoring 13.
The USA lost their second wicket at 53 and their third at 69. A 54-run partnership for the fourth wicket helped them recover, but Pakistani bowlers struck again and restricted the USA to 158 runs.
Shubham Ranjane was the top scorer for the USA with 51 runs, while Shayan Jahangir scored 49.
For Pakistan, Usman Tariq took three wickets, Shadab Khan picked up two, and Mohammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed and Shaheen Afridi took one wicket each.
Sahibzada Farhan was named Player of the Match for his batting performance.
With this win, Pakistan now have four points and their chances of qualifying for the Super 8 have improved.

T20 World Cup 2026: Pakistan sets big target for USA
Right-handed opener Sahibzada Farhan scored 73 off 41 balls to help Pakistan post 190/9 in 20 overs against the United States at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground.
USA captain Monank Patel had elected to field first. Pakistan started strongly. Farhan and Saim Ayub put on 54 runs in five overs.
Ayub scored 19 off 17 balls. This includes two sixes and a four, before being dismissed along with Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha in the final over of the powerplay.
Babar Azam then joined Farhan, and the pair added 81 runs for the third wicket. Babar was dismissed for 46 off 32 balls, and Farhan remained the top-scorer.
Later, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz added 34 runs for the fifth wicket in 16 deliveries. Shadab made 30 off 12 balls before being dismissed, and Nawaz scored 5 off 10 balls.
For the USA, Shadley van Schalkwyk was the most successful bowler. He took 4 wickets for 25 runs. Saurabh Netravalkar, Mohammad Mohsin, and Harmeet Singh took one wicket each.
