PAK vs ZIM: Pakistan has won the T20I tri-series opener match against Zimbabwe.
Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by 5 wickets in the first match of the T20 Tri-Nation Series.
The match was played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where Zimbabwe batted first and scored 147 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Pakistan chased the 148-run target with 4 balls to spare, finishing at 148/5, securing their first win of the event.
For Pakistan, Fakhar Zaman scored 45, Saim Ayub 22, Sahibzada Farhan 16, captain Salman Ali Agha 1, while Babar Azam was out for 0.
Usman Khan (37)* and Mohammad Nawaz (20)* played unbeaten innings to take Pakistan to victory.
Earlier, Zimbabwe’s total was built on Brian Bennet’s 49 and captain Sikandar Raza’s unbeaten 34.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Nawaz took 2 wickets, while Shaheen Afridi, Abrar Ahmed, Salman Mirza, and Saim Ayub claimed one wicket each.
Pakistan Win Toss
In the first match of the tri-nation T20 series, Pakistan won the toss and decided to invite the visiting team to bat.
Speaking after winning the toss at the start of the match, Pakistani team captain Agha Salman said that the team will try to restrict Zimbabwe to a low score in order to gain an advantage in the match.
Agha Salman further said that after the success of the previous series, the team’s morale is high and the players have entered the field with full confidence.
He said that the players are playing with a positive mindset and hope that the series will start successfully.
