Pakistan’s Foreign Office condemned the Afghan Taliban and affiliated militants of launching “unprovoked” attacks along the Pak-Afghan border on the night of Oct. 11–12, 2025.
Furthermore, FO said Pakistani forces repelled the assaults and “inflicted heavy losses” on fighters and infrastructure used to plan attacks inside Pakistan.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the FO said the action by the Afghan Taliban, groups it termed Fitna-e-Khawarij and Fitna-e-Hindustan, aimed to destabilise the frontier and undermined the spirit of peaceful, cooperative ties.
Citing the right of self-defence, Islamabad said its response was “targeted and precise,” adding that measures were taken to avoid collateral damage and protect civilians.
The government said it is closely monitoring the situation and warned that any further provocations would be met with an “unwavering and befitting response.”
Islamabad rejects Afghan FM’s remarks, urges Kabul to curb “terrorist elements”
The FO “strongly rejected” assertions attributed to the interim Afghan foreign minister during a visit to India, calling them an attempt to deflect from the presence and freedom of “terrorist elements” inside Afghanistan.
Islamabad referenced UN monitoring reports and urged the Taliban authorities to honour commitments not to allow Afghan territory to be used against other countries.
Moreover, to take concrete, verifiable action against groups Pakistan identifies as Fitna-e-Khawarij and Fitna-e-Hindustan.
Dialogue stressed alongside tighter regulation of Afghan nationals in Pakistan
Reiterating that Pakistan “values dialogue and diplomacy,” the FO said the country has hosted about four million Afghans over four decades “in the spirit of good neighbourliness,” but will take steps to regulate the presence of Afghan nationals in line with international norms.
Islamabad said it seeks a peaceful, stable and inclusive Afghanistan and called on the Taliban administration to act responsibly and play a constructive role in eliminating terrorism from its soil.
