ISTANBUL: The third round of Pakistan-Afghan talks, which continued for a long 18 hours, ended without any breakthrough in Istanbul.
According to sources, the nexus between the Afghan Taliban regime and India resulted in the failure of talks that took place in the heart of Turkiye.
During the talks, the Afghan Taliban team repeatedly agreed on several occasions on Pakistan’s demand for decisive action against the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Sources further revealed that the Afghan delegations also confessed to the issue on their side, but the stance changed after new directives from Kabul.
Afghan Taliban’s new propaganda
The Taliban led Afghan government launched a new propaganda campaign against Pakistan, as peace talks have been derailed.
As per details, the Afghan Taliban delegates left the meeting room mid-talks, acting on instructions from India.
Sources revealed that the Taliban regime has directed its social media-linked accounts to propagate a narrative targeted at shifting blame for the talks’ failure onto Pakistan.
The Afghan regime’s propaganda narrative claimed that the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is solely Pakistan’s internal issue, saying that Afghanistan faces terrorism from Pakistan in the form of ISIS.
The Indian influenced regime has claimed that Pakistan does not recognize Afghan independence, a claim Pakistan strongly denies.
Analysts view the Taliban’s narrative as a deliberate attempt to divert from their responsibilitystating that “the Taliban delegation’s lack of seriousness in the talks was evident.”
The propaganda campaign by Afghan Taliban mirror tactics used by their alleged Indian handlers, blaming others for terrorism while ignoring their own support for TTP. Pakistan has also dismissed claims of an ISIS threat from its soil as a distraction from Afghanistan’s proven ties to TTP.
Pakistan’s position remains firm: the Taliban regime must cease supporting TTP and prevent Afghan soil from being used for attacks against Pakistan. With the Afghan delegation’s uncooperative stance leading to the talks’ collapse, Pakistan has vowed to take all necessary measures to secure its borders and protect its citizens, with or without Afghan cooperation.
Pakistan rejects Afghan Taliban’s offer to relocate TTP
Pakistan rejected the Afghan Taliban government’s offer to transfer Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to a new location in the second round of talks in Istanbul, Türkiye.
As per details, the second round of talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan concluded in Istanbul, Türkiye.
According to sources, the negotiations between the two neighbouring countries continued for nine straight hours in Istanbul.
The Pakistan Afghanistan talks were hosted by Türkiye at a local hotel and attended by high-level delegations from both countries.
The implementation of the points agreed upon in the initial talks in Qatar was reviewed in detail.
