Pakistan Air Force says it carried out airstrikes in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province, targeting what security officials described as an important enemy military facility.

Pakistani authorities said the operation was carried out in response to what they called cross-border terrorism and firing incidents across the border.

Security sources said the target was a brigade headquarters that was allegedly being used for planning attacks on Pakistani border posts and nearby civilian areas.

Air strike at brigades

According to security officials, the operation used modern, high-precision military technology.

Authorities said the aim was to disable hostile positions rather than cause wider damage in the area.

Officials claimed the aircraft successfully struck their target and reduced the operational capability of the facility.

They said the strike was carried out quickly, giving the opposing side little time to respond.

Weapons and supply infrastructure reportedly damaged

Security sources also claimed that military infrastructure and logistical supply lines at the site were severely damaged.

Initial reports suggested that stocks of heavy weapons and ammunition stored at the headquarters were also destroyed.

However, there has been no independent verification of these claims from Afghan authorities or third-party observers.

Pakistani security officials said the operation was a response to continued cross-border attacks and firing incidents.

They said protecting Pakistan’s border security and civilian population remained the priority.

Officials also said that if cross-border attacks continue, further military responses could follow.

They did not provide details about future operations but said security forces remain alert along the border areas.

Following the operation, Pakistani security forces said they have increased monitoring in border regions.

Officials said troops remain on high alert to deal with any possible security threats.

The Afghan side has not issued a detailed public statement about the incident at the time of reporting.

Rising tensions along the border

The development comes amid increased tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan following recent cross-border incidents.

Pakistan has repeatedly accused militant groups of carrying out attacks from Afghan territory. The Afghan Taliban authorities have denied allowing their soil to be used against Pakistan.
