Web Desk: A big development has come as step has been taken for restoration of direct air connectivity between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
According to the sources the permission has been granted by Pakistan to Biman Bangladesh Airlines for direct flights.
As per details the permission for direct flights operation has been approved by Pakistan Civil Aviation authority (CAA) to Biman Bangladesh Airline from Dhaka to Karachi.
After the government’s approval the airline has been allowed on immediate basis to operate direct operations to Karachi by Director General of the CAA.
Initially, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has been granted permission to operate flights for a period of three months, up to March 30, 2026, CAA sources said.
The airline has also been allowed to use Pakistan’s airspace through approved routes and will be required to strictly follow designated flight paths within Pakistani airspace.
CAA sources further confirmed that flight slots at Karachi Airport have been approved.
According to the sources Biman Bangladesh Airlines will be needed to give details of flights to the authorities of Karachi Airport prior to departure from Dhaka
The direct restoration of air links is expected to benefit both countries by strengthening people-to-people contacts and improving governmental and economic ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
PIA announces resumption of London flights after six years
Earlier it was reported that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) after the period of six years announced expansion of its UK operations of direct flights to London.
According to PIA spokesperson four weekly flights from Islamabad to London is starting from March 29 and the airline will begin operating four weekly flights.
For enhancing the passengers’ convenience and connectivity the flights will be operated from Heathrow Airport’s state of the art terminal 4.
Due to most attractive and high demand routes London holds special importance for PIA as it was the airline’s first ever international destination.
In PIA’s international network restoration, the revival of this route marks a major milestone.
