The government has launched a digital app named the Pakistan Asaan Khidmat app to provide relief to the bikers facing a petrol price hike.
The government of Pakistan introduced this new digital system to provide a subsidy on fuel for bikers.
This initiative will be limited to the motorcyclists only.
Pakistan petrol price increase
The 40-day US-Iran war has caused a massive increase in the price of petrol across Pakistan.
The latest app will make sure that the bikers get a subsidy on petrol.
Here is how you can use the Pakistan Asaan Khidmat app:
- Download the app from the Google Play Store.
- Sign up for the account by providing your CNIC number and creating a password.
- If you already have an account, then you can simply log in to your account.
- After the successful login, you will be able to see an interface showing various services.
- The services include petrol subsidy, city guides and emergency contact information, which will be available in just a single app.
- To secure a petrol subsidy, the bikers must register themselves in the ‘Bike Verification’ section.
- The bikers must provide their mobile phone number and a bike registration number to process the application.
- After filling in the above credentials, the motorcyclists will also have to upload a selfie with the number plate of the bike for final verification.
NITB announcement
The National Information Technology Board (NITB) has announced that the verification system was developed to make sure that only eligible candidates could access the subsidy.
The officials have also stressed that the bike must be registered in the name of the applicant, to avoid any kind of misuse by the facility and that the subsidy could be provided to the rightful vehicle owners.
The Excise and Taxation Department has initiated a free ownership transfer in this regard.
The service has been provided to the residents of Islamabad.
As per the officials of the Excise department, 496 motorcycles have been transferred till the last update.
The office will be providing this service 24/7.
The Director General (DG), Irfan Mehmood, have asked the citizens of Islamabad to avail the free facility provided by the government to make sure to get the subsidy on petrol.
