Pakistan backed Bangladesh upholding cricketing values: Mohsin Naqvi

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has stated that Bangladesh Cricket Board’s stance is based on principles, and Pakistan supported Bangladesh while keeping the fundamental values of cricket in mind.

While speaking with national cricketers on Sunday, the PCB Chairman said that politicising cricket is not in the interest of anyone. He reaffirmed that the PCB will fully implement the decision of the government of Pakistan regarding the upcoming T-20 World Cup participation.

During the meeting, players have been taken into confidence regarding the PCB’s stance on the World Cup. He added that the players appreciated the PCB’s principled position and expressed their full support.

Earlier, while commenting on ICC, Bangladesh issue a former Pakistan cricket captain Rashid Latif has called on Pakistan to fully support Bangladesh, stating that ‘enough is enough, amid growing tensions in international cricket.

Speaking to a TV channel, Latif alleged that India has crossed boundaries, first by refusing to shake hands during matches and now by creating issues involving Bangladesh.

Latif also accused Indian Home Minister Amit Shah, whose son serves as the President of the International Cricket Council (ICC), of being responsible for these developments. He said that despite such serious allegations coming to light, ICC member countries have remained silent due to financial interests.

The former captain added that Pakistan’s decisions in such matters have historically had an impact and urged the country to take a firm stand.
