Pakistan’s cricket team players and officials met King Charles at Clarence House, the historic royal residence in London.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also attended the meeting, during which the King interacted with members of the national squad and team officials. According to Naqvi, King Charles encouraged the Pakistani players and commended Pakistan’s efforts towards promoting peace.
During the meeting, King Charles also discussed cricket with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and spoke about Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and security in the country. The British High Commissioner also briefed the King on Pakistan’s role in regional peace efforts, highlighting the contributions of Pakistan and Naqvi in this regard.
Pakistan’s national cricket team is currently in England for a three-match Test series. The Green Shirts entered the series after drawing 1-1 against the West Indies but endured a difficult start in England. Without Babar Azam, Pakistan suffered a heavy innings-and-103-run defeat in the opening Test.
The team’s struggles continued in the second Test at Lord’s. Despite Pakistan’s strong record at the venue, where they had not lost a Test since 2010 and had won their previous two matches, the visitors were beaten by 194 runs. The result gave England an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
