On March 16, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the nominees who can receive the Player of the Month award for February 2026.

Pakistan’s opening batter Sahibzada Farhan and women’s cricket captain Fatima Sana are amongst the list of those who have been recognised for their great performance.

Farhan had a great run in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 finishing as the highest run-scorer in the tournament.

The right-handed batter overcame Virat Kohli’s record of 319 runs in T20 World Cups with a total of 383 runs at a strike rate of 160.25, with an average of 76.60.

He also became the first batter to score two centuries each in one Men’s T20 World Cup when he scored his centuries against Namibia and Sri Lanka respectively.

Farhan’s prolific form contributed to Pakistan reaching the Super 8 stage where Pakistan was not able to qualify for the next stage.

Meanwhile, Fatima Sana proved herself in an all-round display during the current tour of Pakistan’s trip to South Africa even though her side lost the ODI and T20I series.

In the first T20I Sana struck a brilliant 90, then an unbeaten 47 and bowling figures of 2 for 12 in the third game, which won her the Player of the Match award.

She also made a contribution in the ODI series; she scored an important 52 and picked two important wickets in the second match.

All through the course of the tour, Sana contributed 4 wickets in ODIs and 2 wickets in T20Is, which highlighted her contribution to the team.

Other male nominees are England’s Jacks who played an important role in taking his team to the T20 World Cup semi-finals scoring 194 runs at a strike rate of 173.21 and taking 11 wickets.

USA pacer Van Schalkwyk also impressed finishing as one of the leading wicket-takers in the tournament with 13 wickets and maintaining a good economy (7.76), including innings against India and Pakistan.

The nominations appreciate the outstanding performance of these players on the international stage and demonstrate the rising influence of Pakistan on the global stage of cricket, in both men’s and women’s cricket.
