ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, has announced good news by saying that Pakistan’s economy has grown by 3.71 % in the first quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year.
He said that this uplift in the economy is a milestone achieved by the hard work of the Pakistan Government.
The Federal Minister said the growth rate has increased by 2.15 % as compared to the first quarter of fiscal year 2024-25. He described it as a “qualitative change” in the trajectory of Pakistan’s economy.
He mentioned that the industrial sector has contributed a lot to achieving this goal. The industrial activity has expanded by 9.38 % sharply from only 0.12 % in Q1 of the FY2025.
Furthermore, Ahsan Iqbal said that although we faced many challenges like economic fallout from severe floods in 2025, fiscal tightening, the removal of subsidies from the energy sector and rising food prices, we were able to accomplish this milestone.
Pakistan is on its journey to be one of the developed countries of the world. And this achievement will surely open the doors for foreign investments.
