The Ministry of Religious Affairs of Pakistan says successful Hajj pilgrims can now modify the duration of their Hajj package and accommodation through the government’s Pak Hajj mobile app.
Pilgrims can use the app to change between the long and short Hajj packages, according to ministry officials.
They can also select different accommodation arrangements, including two-bed and three-bed rooms, family rooms and shared accommodation.
The ministry says a number of other Hajj-related services have also been moved online, allowing pilgrims to complete procedures without visiting government offices.
The Pak Hajj App also allows pilgrims to download and print a medical fitness certificate.
Applicants must have the certificate verified by an authorised doctor before uploading it again through the app or the Hajj portal.
Overseas Pakistani pilgrims can obtain the certificate from an authorised doctor in their area and upload the verified document through the app, the ministry said.
The ministry has also introduced an online facility for successful applicants seeking to apply for a Mahram or helper under the hardship quota.
Pilgrims who are unable to perform Hajj because of unavoidable circumstances can also use the app to cancel their application and request a refund.
Officials said the digital services were intended to simplify the Hajj process and reduce the need for pilgrims to visit government offices or wait in queues.
The ministry said more Hajj-related procedures were being made available online as part of efforts to make arrangements more convenient for pilgrims.
