The latest victory of Pakistan’s Green Shirts in the ICC T20 World Cup has officially brought the line-up for the Super Eight stage to a close as the last remaining space in that next stage was secured, securing the title dreams of the Pak squad well intact.

Eight Teams Progress After Group Stage

A total of 20 teams were comprised in this year’s global cricket show-piece. Following the completion of the group stage fixtures only 8 sides would push through to the Super Eight phase, with the remaining 12 teams eliminated from the tournament.

Although the last group match between Australia and Oman is scheduled to take place on February 20, the qualification scenario is already decided, and there is no suspense about the teams getting ahead of the qualification match.

Teams Advancing to the Super Eight

Pakistan was the last side to secure their spot in the Super Eight. The other seven teams who had already managed to gain qualification are India, West Indies, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, England and Zimbabwe.

Super Eight Fixtures and Schedule

On February 21 the Super Eight stage will begin. Pakistan in this round will start their campaign against New Zealand in Colombo. Their second match is scheduled with England on February 24 followed by a game with Sri Lanka on February 28.

The final match of Super Eight stage will be contested on March 1st between India and West Indies which is a high-profile event.

Semi-Finals and Final

The round of knockout matches of the tournament will begin with semi-finals, on March 4 and March 5. The grand final of ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to be played on March 8.
