Web desk: Users across Pakistan have been facing slow internet since January 2, 2026.
People are actively reporting bad connectivity, slow page loading, buffering, and unstable access to online services. Both home broadband and mobile users are affected.
Down detector
Down detector shows that two of Pakistan’s most commonly used internet providers, PTCL and Nayatel, are being reported as ‘down.’
The slowdown is due to a temporary technical fault at an upstream internet provider, some social media users say. This reduced network capacity across the country.
Internet providers in Pakistan rely on upstream providers for international data. When an upstream provider has a problem, it affects users nationwide.
Nayatel said one of its two upstream providers went temporarily offline. Data had to be rerouted through limited channels, causing slow speeds.

Why are users facing slow internet across Pakistan?
