Pakistan issues strong demarche to Afghan chargé d’affaires

Web desk: Pakistan has formally lodged a strong protest with the Afghan Taliban government over terrorist attacks launched from Afghan soil. It issued an official demarche following a deadly assault on a Pakistani military camp.

Strongly condemning the terrorist attack by Khwarij belonging to Kharji Gul Bahadur Group on a Pakistan Military camp in North Waziristan.

The Foreign Office conveyed Pakistan’s grave concern over the continued support and facilitation of the Afghan Taliban regime to the Fitna-al-Khwarij/ TTP.

According to the Foreign Office, Pakistan condemned in the strongest terms a recent terrorist attack in North Waziristan. In which four Pakistani soldiers were martyred.

The attack was carried out by Khawarij militants operating from Afghan territory.

During the meeting at the Foreign Office, Pakistan conveyed its serious concerns to the Afghan chargé d’affaires. And formally recorded its protest over the continued use of Afghan soil for terrorism against Pakistan.

Islamabad stated that such attacks pose a grave threat to regional peace and security.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said Pakistan maintains that the Afghan Taliban are providing support and facilitation to Fitna al-Khawarij and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). And enabling them to carry out attacks against Pakistani security forces and civilians.

Pakistan also expressed deep concern over the existence of safe havens for terrorist elements inside Afghanistan. It stressed that these sanctuaries are being used to plan and execute cross-border attacks.

Reiterating its position, Pakistan urged the Afghan authorities to take immediate and concrete action against all terrorist groups operating from their territory.

Additionally, to ensure that Afghan soil is not used against Pakistan.

Islamabad emphasised that such actions are essential to uphold Afghanistan’s international commitments and assurances given to Pakistan.

Pakistan also urged Afghan authorities to take immediate, concrete, and verifiable measures against all terrorist groups operating on Afghan soil.

The Afghan Taliban government was also categorically informed that Pakistan reserves the full right to defend its sovereignty and protect its citizens.
