Pakistan has lodged a strong protest with the Afghan Taliban over recent terrorist attacks, cross-border infiltration and alleged violations of Pakistani airspace.
Pakistan issued a formal demarche over drone incursions and the alleged violation of its airspace on September 23. Pakistani authorities handed the demarche to the Afghan side on Thursday.
The Foreign Office also raised concerns with Afghan authorities over recent security incidents along the border. Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan confirmed that Pakistan had conveyed its concerns about terrorism and the border situation.
Pakistan told the Afghan authorities that it would not accept terrorist attacks or cross-border violations originating from Afghan territory. Islamabad also called on Kabul to prevent its territory from being used against Pakistan and to take action against militant groups operating from its soil.
The latest demarche covers Pakistan’s concerns over terrorist attacks, drone incursions and other incidents along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Pakistan has repeatedly called on the Afghan Taliban to take concrete and verifiable steps against militant groups operating from Afghanistan. The Foreign Office has said that progress in Pakistan-Afghanistan relations depends on action by Kabul to address these security concerns.
