According to a report by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, there has been a significant increase in digital connectivity across the country.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has welcomed the positive results related to Information and Communication Technology issued by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) under the Household Integrated Economic Survey 2024–25, indicating a notable expansion in digital connectivity nationwide.
According to the survey, over 96 percent of households in Pakistan have access to mobile or smartphone facilities, while more than 70 percent of these households are benefiting from internet services, compared to just 34 percent in 2019.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leads with 77 percent digital access at the household level, which is an encouraging development for the province.
This achievement is a matter of pride for the Government of Pakistan and the regulator, reflecting ongoing efforts to improve household access, the availability of services, and the affordability of mobile handsets and internet facilities.
The survey clearly showed an increase in digital awareness, safe practices in the online world, and a significant improvement in the digital skills of the public.
