During the weekly press briefing, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tahir Husaain Andrabi, strongly rejected what it termed as baseless statements by India’s Minister for External Affairs, saying such allegations cannot conceal India’s actions that undermine regional peace.
The spokesperson accused India of supporting terrorism at both regional and global levels and said New Delhi should focus on correcting its own conduct instead of advising others. Referring to the demolition of Faiz Elahi Mosque and adjoining properties in Delhi, the Foreign Office said the act was part of an ongoing anti-Muslim campaign, describing it as a continuation of the 1992 demolition of Babri Mosque and the subsequent construction of a temple.
As per the spokesperson India’s Hindutva-driven movement of hatred against minorities continues relentlessly.
The spokesperson also briefed the media persons on Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar’s current visit to China where he co-chaired the Pakistan-China Strategic Dialogue.
He said that after the talks a joint statement was issued and Pakistan reaffirmed its support for China’s efforts to achieve national unity.
The spokesperson said that on January 6, Ishaq Dar held telephonic contacts with the foreign ministers of Myanmar, Indonesia, Egypt, Bangladesh, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates to discuss bilateral and regional matters.
He said that on Afghanistan, Pakistan decided to continue the trilateral mechanism and said it is awaiting practical assurances that Afghan soil will not be used against other countries.
The spokesperson also recalled Pakistan’s opposition to last year’s 12-day aggression against Iran, stating that Iran’s situation is an internal matter and Pakistan does not comment on Iran’s internal affairs.
