Pakistan crush Bangladesh by 128 runs in rain-affected 2nd ODI

Pakistan set 275-run target for Bangladesh in 2nd ODI

Pakistan registered a commanding 128-run victory over the Bangladesh national cricket team in the second One Day International of the three-match series, with the result decided under the Duckworth-Lewis–Stern method after rain interrupted play.

Batting first, the Pakistan national cricket team posted a competitive total of 274 runs. However, rain forced a revision of the target, leaving Bangladesh with 243 runs to chase in 32 overs.

Despite the adjusted target, Bangladesh struggled in their run chase and were bowled out for just 114 runs, handing Pakistan a comprehensive win and a strong position in the series.

The match was played under the captaincy of Shaheen Shah Afridi for Pakistan. Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first, hoping to take advantage of the conditions.

Moaz Sadaqat led Pakistan’s batting with a blistering knock of 75 runs off 46 balls, hitting six fours and five sixes. Salman Ali Agha also made a valuable contribution, scoring 64 runs before being run out.

Salman Ali Agha anchored the innings with 64 runs, striking seven boundaries and two sixes. Mohammad Rizwan added 44 runs, while opener Sahibzada Farhan contributed 31. Faheem Ashraf chipped in with 14 runs as Pakistan attempted to stabilise the middle order.

Bangladesh’s bowling attack kept Pakistan under pressure throughout the innings. Rashad Hossain was the standout performer with three wickets, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed two crucial dismissals to restrict Pakistan’s scoring.

Chasing a target of 243 runs, the Bangladesh national cricket team were bowled out for 114 in the 24th over.

Litton Das was the top scorer for Bangladesh with 41 runs. In addition, Towhid Hridoy scored 28 runs, while Saif Hassan contributed 12.

For the Pakistan national cricket team, Moazzam Sadaqat and Haris Rauf took three wickets each, while Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed two wickets.

After the 128-run victory, the three-match series is now level at 1–1. Bangladesh had defeated Pakistan in the first match of the series.
